What is Bullying?
Bullying is the use of force to abuse or intimidate others. The behavior can be habitual and involve an imbalance of social or physical power. It can include verbal harassment or threat, physical assault or coercion and may be directed repeatedly towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability. If a group does bullying, it is called mobbing. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a "target".
There are three main parts to bullying:
Verbal bullying is saying or writing mean things. Verbal Bullying is using terrible language to make the person feel depressed, lonely and sometimes ashamed.
Social bullying, sometimes referred to as relational bullying, involves hurting someone’s
reputation or relationships. Social bullying can be making fun of someones appearance, background or friendships.
Physical bullying involves hurting a person’s body or possessions. Kicking and punching someone smaller or someone that cannot defend for themselves is counted as Physical bullying.
